Diary

Here's a novel idea for a Diary.  No negativity.  I'm gonna try my hardest.

Twenty minutes pass.
Oh I know!  One of the things I said I was not going to do, when I write that diary with the body all spoilered out was not sleep all weekend.  This was harder than I thought.  I was in bed at midnite on Friday so that was a factor of course.  I set the alarm a little earlier than I should have.  I was ambitious.  I did get up before 10:30 though. That was the first step.  Getting up is great and all but sitting at the laptop all day is not much better.

So I ate breakfast.  Drank some water and hauled the bicycle out of the foyer to the car.  It needed air in the tires.  I have a small car battery run pump so that was quickly dispensed with.  I also oiled the chain.  Then I drove off to the state park with the nice trail.

MUST stay POSITIVE.  Gah this is hard.  The trail was pretty crowded.  With walkers.  Which is okay, if you walk single file or perhaps two wide.  But four wide?  Come on now.  I biked to the 'Warning Watch for Black Bears"Sign.  I sat on the picnic table, taking a break.  Deciding I was going to head back.  It was a short ride but it was the first ride of the year.  And then two fit 30ish looking women bike by. The closest one asks if I had seen any bears.  The cute one smiled at me.  So i mounted up again and bike behind them.  Did I mention they were fit?  And I am not.  I lost them after about 3/4 mile.  Oh well.  It was still a good rife, came out to around 43 minutes.

Today I was also up early  Even more so than yesterday.  I peeked out the window and saw sun.  It had rained all night.  I ate breakfast.  Drove to the trail.  Made a pit stop at the no flush toilets.  And then biked alone on the trail for about 40 minutes.  It was colder today.  I did not sweat as much.  It was peaceful, just the birds and the river.

When I got back to the parking lot there were a lot of people unloading bikes and kayaks and walking sticks.  I picked a good time to go out and bike. I went to the just built bike trestle and was able to see the river and the valley like never before.  I need to take my camera next trip.

I also did some other things around the house. I made a todo list and mostly completed everything on it yesterday.  Some things I didn't complete and I intended to get to today but well.  Yeah.  One of the things I wanted to do was write a TODO list program, using say Python and SQLITE.  That one is still at 1%-Design.

The second app is just some XML parsing I want to do with some of the various pieces of data I have, like last.fm and delicious. That one is at like 50%-Man this Regexp is not working right.

The third app er thing, was to get the PAGenWeb site transfered over to a new host and upload the Surnames I've been sent the last 6 months.  I did get the site transfered but the site FTP went down and I had to put the SURNAMES on hold.

I cleaned.

And now I am beat. Ugh.  Anyway. have a good one.

Your talk of XML parsing reminds me of why I hate the internet, networking, computers, programming, and anything compromised of logic gates in general.
